Gentlemen, start your wallets. Audi has released UK pricing for the S6 saloon and estate, yours for £55,330 and £56,600 respectively. While the all-round quality of the drive remains an unknown, that monumental V10 is very unlikely to disappoint. Even if, at 429bhp, it’s down to the tune of 20bhp on the S8’s own Lambo-derived V10 and by around 70bhp on BMW’s ten-pot magnum opus in the M5.

Audi is due to wheel out the new All Road at Geneva next week and while there are absolutely no technical deets in the wild, these leaked pictures do at least prove one thing – the vertical chrome grille inserts that first appeared in the TT Shooting brake concept could well become a default feature on many Audis…

But as the original Audi RS4 Audi proved, if it’s the ultimate combination of practicality and performance you fancy, a souped-up wagon is very tough to beat. So, we’re pleased to see that all three of Germany’s heavy metal car makers are preparing hardcore performance versions of their full-sized estate models.
