And so it came to pass that GM did the sensible thing and decided to put the Camaro concept into production. Problem is, it won’t go on sale until 2009. Or at least, that’s the latest tittle tattle, sourced from GM’s supplier network.

Ford has a hit on its hands, Stateside, with the retro-styled, all-new
Mustang. So, it’s no surprise to learn that Chevy is preparing a modern
take on the Mustang’s long-time (but currently defunct) nemesis, the
Camaro, for the Detroit show. The only pity is that they’ve released an
image to US mag Road and Track prior to the official unveiling at the
show. With images and details of the Lamborghini Miura, Ford Edge,
Aston Martin Rapide, Dodge Challenger, Chrysler Imperial – the list
goes on – already revealed, the big brands have once again robbed an
autoshow of a raft of exciting debuts.
