Ford’s C1 chassis will be sold Stateside, after all

Ford’s really rather excellent C1 chassis underpins several winning products including the second generation Focus and C-Max compact MPV. So, it’s more than a little odd that the ailing US auto giant has so far declined to offer any C1-based models to US customers. Ford’s American Focus fiasco

Distinctive styling, a polished all-round package and world-beating driving dynamics that forced the competition to collectively raise its game. That’s the Ford Focus, right? But in the metal, there’s a lot less separating Ford’s new folding hard-top equipped Focus from VW’s much delayed Golf-based Eos. Both are elegant, desirable and a clear cut above Peugeot’s 307 CC, the Opel/Vauxhall TwinTop and the Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet.
