As we reported back in November, Stateside public demand has forced BMW to backtrack on its original decision
not to offer the M5 supersaloon with a triple pedal, stick twiddling transmission

It should have been this way from the beginning. But BMW has
finally caved in to customer demand and announced a manual transmission for the
M5 saloon. The irony, of course, is that it’s customer demand in the slushbox-loving
US of A that has forced BMW’s hand…
