Print and be damned
Tired of how certain print magazines pick up dusty old stories and rumours that have been going round the web for weeks, give them a quick polish and wheel them out as “exclusives”? Then you’re going to love this tale of how Auto Express was suckered into printing a fake story on the upcoming Mini CSL.
Mini fan sites MotoringFile and Mini2, in particular, have been taking it on the nose from various magazine’s pinch-buff-and-reprint tactics. And now Mini2 has struck back. Editor Tony Thomas buffed up a Photshopped image, pulled some figures out of thin air and sent whole lot over to Auto Express suggesting it was scoop material on the rumoured Mini CSL. And guess what? They printed the lot:
