Bad boy Brabus

Have a butchers at this bad boy from German tuning outfit Brabus. Based on the smash-hit Mercedes CLS “four door coupe,” the Brabus Rocket packs an uprated version of MB’s twin-turbo V12. Bored out to 6.3 litres, the massive mill generates a faintly ludicrous 730bhp at a hilariously low 5,100rpm.

But the real showbiz statistic is the torque output, peaking at 974 lb/ft (though usually limited to an only slightly less insane 811 lb/ft in the interests of mechanical sympathy). All in all, it’s enough to push this low-slung sled to an electronically limited 350kph / 217mph. Meanwhile, the 0-62mph / 0-100kph sprint is crushed in four seconds dead and the car will hit 125mph / 200kph in 10.5 seconds. It’s truly, deeply, wonderfully mad.

Mercifully, Brabus have specified some weapons grade anchors to prevent the Rocket from achieving escape velocity. Up front is a pair of 375mm ceramic brake discs, complete with  twelve piston calipers. Steel 355mm discs do duty at the rear. As for chassis options, Brabus can provide either the full airsprung, self levelling Monty for comfort queens or a hard core adjustable springs and dampers setup for budding ‘Ringmeisters. Finally, wheels are massive 19-inch plates wrapped in relatively modest 285/30 section rubber at the back and 255/35 boots frontside. The Brabus Rocket. It’s kinda cute. We’ll take two.

Plums!
