What the Escalade really needs is a little more girth

The Cadillac Escalade SUV. It’s big, it’s bad and it’s very, very bling. But apparently it’s not enough for some US customers. Step forward the Escalade ESV, a new long wheelbase variant which takes Caddy’s already ridiculous SUV to all new lows of planet-raping excess.

Although technical details have yet to be released, Cadillac has announced that the new land yacht will be shown at the upcoming Detroit motor show in January. Indeed, it will form part of an SUV and pickup truck-heavy fleet of new production vehicles and concepts from GM at the show. In fairness, however, the Chevy Tahoe Two-Mode Hybrid and the Saturn Vue Greenline Hybrid, both due to debut in Detroit, are evidence that The General is at least aware that fossil fuels are a finite resource.
