Not confirmed, but really rather convincing
As official picture leakage goes, it doesn’t get any better than this. PR images of BMW’s hotly anticipated 3 Series coupe have hit the world wide web. And there has been much rejoicing. Of course, it might be nothing more than a calculated move on BMW’s behalf, the better to leverage the awesome viral marketing power of the interweb…

Flex those fingers for the (slightly) bigger picture…
While the images are not officially confirmed to depict the new 3er coupe, they are entirely consistent with existing spy photography including undisguised cars recently caught in the open. The pictures also confirm the car has a fairly serious rear overhang. Which either makes it unusually elegant or a little old fashioned, depending on the cut of your classy coupe jib.
Technical details and pricing have yet to be released, but the launch engine line up is expected to include the following lumps:
215bhp, 2.5-litre straight-six, petrol
258bhp, 3.0-litre straight-six, petrol
306bhp, 3.0-litre straight-six, petrol turbo
231bhp, 3.0-litre straight-six, diesel turbo
Two-litre petrol and diesel four-pot engines will likely fill out the range some time after launch, while the V8-powered M3 is expected towards the end of next year or early ’08.
Meanwhile…not content with these initial images, the Photoshop-equipped masses have been feverishly chopping up the E92 with an assortment of phat rims, slammed ride heights and assorted aerodynamic addenda. Here’s a few of our favourites from e90post.com:

Driving a LExus IS350 for the past year I didn't quite think that BMW was a truely high performance automobile. The 330's were so so and not quick when compared to a Lexus IS350. I considered those under powered cars a great chick car, not for the performance minded. THe former 330i was slow in comparision. This Saturday I test drove a 335i coupe and needless to say I was quite impressed. What my IS350 lacked was the feeling of the road, it is a luxury feel. The new 335I coupe not only blew me away with its speed bit it provided a feel of the road that BMW is noted for. Also needless to say it is a coupe with a beauty that is incomprable to anything else on the road. Needless to say I am looking to purcase this amazing car!
