BMW’s new X5: if it ain’t broke…

Recent spy shots of the all-new X5, expected around February next year, have suggested that BMW is playing it safe with its mud-plugging cash cow. But with these latest snaps from US motorsports blog Killboy (like its predecessot, the new X5 will be knocked up Stateside at BMW’s plant in Alabama) the case for the prosecution rests: the new X5 is an extremely conservative update.
Of course, the X5 has been a huge success for BMW, so it’s perhaps not altogether surprising that the company’s management appears to have taken a risk-averse attitude in ruling out a big-time Banglisation (as in Chris…) for the flagship SUV. However, it remains to be seen whether BMW’s carefully evolutionary approach has enabled the addition of a third row of seats, thereby distancing it from its only slightly smaller sibling, the X3…
