Chevy gets back in the affordable musclecar game as flagship US autoshow kicks off
Ford has a hit on its hands, Stateside, with the retro-styled, all-new Mustang. So, it’s no surprise to learn that Chevy is preparing a modern take on the Mustang’s long-time (but currently defunct) nemesis, the Camaro, for the Detroit show. The only pity is that they’ve released an image to US mag Road and Track prior to the official unveiling at the show. With images and details of the Lamborghini Miura, Ford Edge, Aston Martin Rapide, Dodge Challenger, Chrysler Imperial – the list goes on – already revealed, the big brands have once again robbed an autoshow of a raft of exciting debuts.
Prospects for production and technical details including platform and engines aren’t yet known. But the full spiel should be divulged later today, or possibly on Monday, when the the wraps come off in Detroit.
Update:
Official renders of the Camaro concept have now been released.
