Caparo T1 gets Goodwood outing

Ultracar to wow Festival crowds – but not take on the hill
Supercar start up Caparo will show off its F1-car-for-the-road at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. But the 1,000bhp-per-tonne T1 won’t be taking on the Festival’s hill climb – until 2007…
In case you’ve forgotten, the simple plan for the Caparo T1 is to deliver bona fide F1 driving dynamics and to be the production car to do so. Power will come from a high-reving, supercharged V8, designed in-house at Caparo. With a carbon fibre monocoque construction, race car-aping aero, that 1,000bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio and the efforts of a couple of former McLaren engineers back at HQ, well, the T1 certainly looks like the real deal.
Whatever, the T1 will be on static display at Goodwood from 7th to 9th July along with a fleet of fancy metal, both old and new.
