Dodge Challenger concept caught

If the new-age Dodge Charger has been a disappointment for muscle car fans (it’s only available in four-door trim) this Dodge Challenger concept, due to be shown at the Detroit motor show in January, should hit the spot.

The images shown here are of unknown provenance, but certainly square with the snaps AutoWeek slapped up back in November. The concept is thought to be based on a shortened Chrysler 300 chassis with power from the company’s 6.1-litre Hemi V8 and a six-speed manual box. There’s no official word on a production version of the Challenger concept, but most suspect that a favourable reception to the concept will be enough to see the car appear in showrooms…Stateside, at least.
