Apparently there’s a price war going on in continental Europe. Margins and profits are being eroded, with Renault, Honda, Peugeot and Fiat all complaining of a poor pricing environment. Try telling that to your average car buyer in “Rip Off” Britain…

Reuters reports that sales volumes in Europe have been strong in 2005. However, it now turns out aggressive pricing is largely to blame. But with many manufacturers currently hoping to recoup investment following a slew of new model launches across Europe, including the new Renault Clio and Fiat Grande Punto, analysts fear the financial consequences could be serious.
