Students from around the world submit Ferrari design proposals

Ferrari has released the results of a competition for automotive design students. Students from the four most prestigious design schools worldwide (so, that’s the Center for Creative Studies of Detroit, Coventry School of Art and Design, European Institute of Design of Turin and Tokyo Communication Arts) produced proposals based around either the eight cylinder mid or 12 cylinder front-engined Ferrari concepts.

Take a peek at the pics below and you can see the students took inspiration from a wide range of past and present Ferraris, including the classic 250 LM, the Mythos concept and the current 430 and Scaglietti models. And many of them, in our not so numble opinion, beats the pants off Giugiaro’s ghastly Ferrari GG50 concept, as seen at the Tokyo show. If you’re local, the 20 shortlisted one quarter scale models are on show at the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello, Italy. The winner will be announced on 18th November.

Those competition concepts (in full!):
