When 500bhp isn’t anywhere near enough…
Since AMG became Mercedes’ in-house tuning bitch, sales have gone absolutely postal. Therefore, those seeking a little exclusivity with their pimped-out Mercs need to look elsewhere. Thankfully, Brabus do a great line in drug dealer Benzes. The latest is this uber S-Class, packing the same 730bhp twin-turbo V12 as Brabus’s own Rocket.
Along with that scrotum-withering power output, the Brabus S-Class cranks out a ridiculous 974lb/ft peak torque, though that’s limited to a feeble 811 lb/ft to give the drivetrain a fighting chance of avoiding total disintegration when pedal meets metal. Top speed is an artificially capped 211mph, again just like the Rocket.
Brabus also offers tuning packages for almost every model in the new S-Class range, starting with the positively mild S350 boasting a 15bhp bump, ranging through a tweaked S320 diesel model squeezing out 272bhp and coming full circle with the aforementioned loony-bin V12 barge.
Drag yourself over to Serious Wheels for the full press release. But before you go, try this factoid for fun: the V12 model hits its 730bhp peak at just 5,100rpm. Effortless won’t even begin to describe the performance on offer…
