Lambo Miura: on again, off again, on again…

We’ve stopped caring
The will they, won’t they saga of the Miura continues. First came the concept, along with cryptic comments regarding its prospects for production. Next was an admission that Lamborghini didn’t have the resources or production capacity for such a vanity project. Then came claims that Lambo big cheese Stephan Winklemann had indicated the Miura would in fact hit the road, thanks to overwhelming public demand. And now? Well, now Pistonheads says it ain’t happening. As for us, we’ve just about stopped caring.
Pistonheads is running with the limited production capacity theory, but adding the following statement from Lambo HQ:
“We’re not in the GT business any more. We are a super sports car business."
Quite how the low-slung, mid-engine, two-seater Miura concept qualifies as a GT and not a supercar is not for we mere mortals to speculate upon. However, we do have a feeling this is not the last twist in this particular tale.

Reborn Miura, er, reborn (internal)
