Lexus launches IS in UK

Lexus has announced UK pricing for its BMW 3 Series-bashing IS saloon. Initially available with a 2.5-litre petrol V6, the IS will be offered with a new 2.2-litre diesel lump early next year. Still no word, however, on when the 300bhp+ IS350 model, as sold in the US, will make it to Blighty.

For the record, the 2.5-litre V6 produces 204bhp, while the new 2.2 diesel knocks out 177bhp and 295lb/ft. Prices for the new IS250 start at £22,400, rising to around £28,000 for a pimped-out example with an auto box. The IS250 is available now, while the IS220 diesel is set for a January launch.
