Lotus minting it Stateside

Plucky Brit makes gravy in the US
2,385. That’s how many cars Lotus sold in the US in the year to July 2005. And that makes the Elise (the only model currently on sale in the US of A) the most successful model in the company’s 57-year history. What’s more, Lotus is currently federalising the Exige, the Elise’s hard-top sibling, in preparation for a US launch next year.
But the best news about Lotus’s Stateside success is that it will surely bring the firm’s future model roadmap a few steps closer to reality. That includes a 2 + 2 modern-day Europa (based on a stretched Elise chassis) and an all new Esprit flagship sportster. We can’t wait.
