Leading Lambo lands in UK
The first examples of Lambo’s new flagship supercar are due to be delivered to customers in UK shortly (we’re waiting on word from the Big Bad Bull regarding the precise timing [Update: first cars will be with customers in August]). To coincide with the arrival of the cars, Lamborghini has been good enough to inform customers of the final bill: the Murcielago LP640 is a snip at £190,000…

LP640 ups Murcielago’s ante to 631bhp
For the record, the new Murci’s LP640 designation refers to the engine installation - longitudinale posteriore, natch – and the 640 (euro-) pony output. That’s more than a McLaren F1 can muster and enough for a claimed zero to 62mph sprint of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 211mph. It also goes someway to justifying Lambo’s claims that the LP640 is “the most extreme and fastest sports car in its class.”
Of course, until Lamborghini wheels out an all new range-topper with a modern alloy or carbon-fibre chassis, the Murcielago’s rather antediluvian tubular steel space frame construction will ensure it remains a relative dinosaur – and a bit of a porker with a 1,665kg kerb weight. But when a car looks this good (and no doubt offers a driving experience to match), well, we can jive with this Jurassic jument for a little while longer.
