Next TT will indeed be a dead ringer for the Shooting Brake concept
The next Audi TT has been caught testing. Although the car’s panels are largely covered in camo, just enough can be seen to confirm that the Shooting Brake concept shown at the the Tokyo show does indeed provide a clear picture of the new model.
The door, sill and rear wing treatment of the car snapped by you know who (yup, it’s bloody Hans G. Lehmann again) are very nearly, but not quite, identical to the shooting brake concept: the show car has an indentation just above the sill that appears to be absent from the production vehicle). What’s more, just enough can be made out through the canvas covering the front of the car to confirm that TT will indeed get Audi’s big-grille ugly stick treatment. However, if this image is anything to go by, the Shooting Brake’s unique interpretation of that orifice won’t be making into production. Instead, it looks like a more conventional version of the grille, complete with bi-secting licence plate mounting will be making an appearance. And just when we thought Audi had finally licked it with the Shooting Brake’sgrille. Oh well…

Shooting Brake’s version of “that” grille arguably the best yet. But it probably won’t be appearing on the production version of the new TT.
