Supercharged coupé is go
First demoed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer, Nissan’s supercharged 350Z GT-S concept has been given the green light for a limited production run. Just like the standard Z, this 375bhp mean machine is a conspicuous bargain. It’s expected to go on sale for £36,000…
Designed and engineered in the UK, the GT-S packs a Novidem-supplied supercharger which winds up the 3.5-litre V6’s torque output to a rather rude 313lb/ft (the stock Z cranks out 260lb/ft). That’s enough to drag the GT-S to 60mph in around 4.8 seconds and to slice 2.5 seconds off the standard 350Z’s zero-to-100mph time.
Confirmation of the GT-S’s transistion for production comes courtesy of AutoExpress magazine. But for now, it’s not clear whether that parsimonious £36k price tag buys the full range of added extras, including specially developed Bilstein suspension and by-pass valved exhaust system, as fitted to the concept (see our full report here). It’s also not known whether the GT-S will be made available outside the UK.
