V8 Mustang for £20k?
With the US economy in jitters and the dollar homing in on the $2
barrier, vs the pound, personal imports of Yankee metal are looking
awfully cheap - even when you factor in all the duties and taxes
involved. According to specialists Kent Car Imports, a full fat V8
Mustang can now be yours for a whisker under £23,000…
With a US list price of just $26,385, a bent-eight ‘Stang starts at a silly UK equivalent of £13,462. Bung on 17.5 per cent for import duties and VAT, three grand or so in shipping and other sundry costs, as well as £280 for road tax and registration and Kent Car Imports' £2k fee and you have 300bhp’s worth of V8 muscle for BMW 318i money.
What’s more, if you fancy organising the whole process yourself, you might just squeak under the £20k barrier. Just remember, most chin-scratching financial analysts predict the dollar is only going to get weaker…
