Production Mondeo caught with pants down

Concept becomes reality
Location: Bahamas. Subject: The new Ford Mondeo. Scenario: Full on, pants down exposé. As ever with this sort of pre-launch image leakage, the unseen hand of viral marketing is a distinct possibility. But it’s almost certain the car you see before you is the final production version of the new Mondeo…

Apparently caught during an on-location tropical photo session, these snaps (which first popped up in the forums of fordeurope.net) confirm that the concept Mondeo due to be shown later this week in Paris is a very thinly disguised version of the production car. Ford’s so-called kinetic design language aside, headline styling features for Mondeo the Third include prominent twin tail pipes, a conspicuous rear diffuser and LED-powered rear light clusters.
P.S. There’s a good chance you’ll get your first glimpse of the new Mondeo in motion courtesy of Casino Royale, the next instalment in the seemingly infinite James Bond saga. Ford allegedly paid £14 million to secure some big screen product placement for the new Mondeo in the supine secret agent’s latest flick.
