Czech brand’s spin machine goes into overdrive
Releasing murky teaser photos of highly anticipated new models is an age old PR tactic. But is Skoda being a little optimistic by taking that approach with the distinctly utilitarian new Fabia estate model? Apparently not, because we’re going to play along and publish the photo…
We therefore give you the new Fabia wagon. Skoda has yet to reveal tech specs. However, it’s thought the bulkier wagon will ditch the hatch’s 1.2 triple-pot petrol lump in favour of the gutsier 1.4 and 1.6-litre engines.
Needless to say, diesel lumps will also figure strongly - most like the peppy three-cylinder 1.4-litre engine and the familiar 1.9-litre four-banger.
In short, the Fabia wagon will no doubt be a sensible, functional, capable and quietly classy compact estate car. Fair dunkum.
