Get ‘em while they’re hot
Mercedes is currently buffing up its new entry-level, BMW X3-bashing
SUV. Meanwhile, BMW’s M-Power boffins chip away at the next M3, which
most pundits predict will be available in four-door form, along with
the usual coupe an’ cab formats. Both cars have been caught testing by
the relentless Hans G Lehmann and chums.
In truth, neither set of images is awfully revealing. The MLK mule looks like a jacked up saloon liberally lathered in camo panels. Which is exactly what it is since the MLK will be closely based on the next M-B C-Class and this mule clearly isn’t carrying the full MLK shell.

However, if the four-door M3 test car is indicative of the final model, BMW has chosen a low-key look for the E90 vintage car. Flared wheel arches are notable by their absence.
