Coupe-convertible pushed out to May 2006
Volkswagen has delayed the launch of Eos coupe-convertible until May 2006. The high profile new model was originally pencilled in for March. The move is part of VW’s “ForMotion Plus” programme which includes efforts to reduce warranty claims to the tune of €500 million.
In total, it’s hoped ForMotion Plus will improve annual profits at the lumbering German giant car company by €4 billion. VW’s bean counters are aiming for total profits of €5.1 billion in 2008. ForMotion Plus is also intended to push the brand up the ranks of the all-important JD Power customer satisfaction and reliability survey in the US, in which VW came a lowly 34th out of 37 brands in the latest results.
Update:
According German tome Die Presse, problems with the Eos’s roof mechanism could now delay the car until July 2007…
