Wheels coming off X-Type?

Production of smallest Jag shrinks again
More bad news for Jag fans. X-Type production has been suspended for eight days. The simple reason is poor sales - just 12,500 of these chopped, rebodied Ford Mondeos found homes worldwide in the first quarter of 2005. BMW probably sells that many 3-Series in a couple of weeks.
With the S-Type replacement several years away, the new-ish XJ underwhelming aestheticaly and the upcoming XK replacement looking rather bland, there’s not much light at the end of tunnel. Which is a shame: Jaguar is a great brand and just a whiff of boldness from the product planners would surely see a significant revival.
